Meaningful Use Final Rule
The Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) announced the final rule on meaningful use (MU) and standards and certification under the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act’s electronic health record (EHR) incentive program.In addition to defining the criteria that health care providers need to meet in order to achieve MU, this final rule outlines payment methodologies for the Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive programs.
Working with WVRHITEC is a key way for providers to ensure that they achieve MU according to the final rule, and therefore qualify for funds from the Stimulus Act.
