WVDirect: Secure Messaging System For Health Care Providers

Begin Transition From Paper/FAX To Ease Of Secure Messaging Communication System

The WV Health Information Network (WVHIN) has a secure messaging system (WVDirect) available to health care providers in the state. WVDirect is a simple, encrypted messaging solution so health care providers can quickly share messages and health information needed to provide patient care.

This system enables participating health care providers to transition from using current paper/fax transmissions to using electronic messaging communications.

To date, nearly 800 providers have signed up to use WVDirect.

Public Heatlh Reporting – Meaningful Use

The Office of Epidemiology and Prevention Services (W.Va. DHHR) has created a new website (click to see) that provides guidance on achieving Meaningful Use for public health reporting objectives. The new web site offers specifics on how providers will be able to register and report immunization data….and, in the future, report electronic laboratory reports, syndromic surveillance data, and cancer data to the appropriate registries.
